Historic Landmarks Commission Seeks Volunteer Member By July 13
The Deschutes County Historic Landmarks Commission seeks a new volunteer member and is accepting letters of interest until Monday, July 13.
The Commission serves as a hearings body for matters concerning historic districts, buildings structures and sites within Deschutes County and the cities of Bend, Redmond, Sisters and La Pine. Members are the official public involvement committee on historic landmark issues providing a forum for community input.
There is currently one county unincorporated representative vacancy on the Commission. This is a voting position that represents Deschutes County’s unincorporated area outside the cities boundaries.
The Commission meets at the Bend City Hall Council Chambers (701 NW Wall Street) in Bend on the fourth Thursdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. Additional meetings may be required. The term of the position is four years.
Those interested in serving on the Commission are invited to submit a letter of interest that describes the applicant’s background and interest in historic preservation. Letters of interest will be accepted before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13.
